Euro-centric apparel meets US sneaker culture
In the age of digital communications, Scandinavia has emerged as a northern-outpost of the influential style elite who - despite their modest size and relative geographical exile - make a significant contribution to global style each season. Home to an impressive spread of some of the world's most forward-thinking and spoken about brands and labels, the Nordic countries have elegantly put to use the power of new media to claim ownership of their own design DNA and aesthetic voice at a global level. Most notable are the Swedish and Danish capitals - Stockholm and Copenhagen respectively - both of which are now firmly established as Scandi-hubs of style and influence. For the AW18 presentations at Scandinavia's largest fashion event, the northern chill made layering a priority of the style savants with premium outerwear emerging as a saviour of style and survival for many attendees.
