How to wear straw this summer
HATS, SHOES AND HANDBAGS: STRAW IS EVERYWHERE THIS SUMMER!
For the past few years, straw has been considered an essential component of any summer wardrobe.
This versatile material works for afternoons on the beach, as well as strolling around town. Our guide will show you how to wear the trend the right way.
How to wear straw
Subtlety is key... we wouldn't recommend wearing straw head-to-toe! Instead, take your pick of straw accessories to put the finishing touch to summer outfits. Try adding espadrilles, a pretty shopping basket, or a straw hat to lift the classic jeans and T-shirt look when out and about in the city. Teamed with a floral maxi dress or a lace top for a feminine and quintessentially summery look, straw is ideal for hitting the beach.

Straw hats
Keep your straw hat close at hand to stay safe (and stylish) in the sun. Fresh off the catwalk, the floppy hat is this season's must-have. With its supple and sometimes outrageously proportioned wide brim, this seriously glamorous accessory promises to make dressing for the urban environment much more fun.
Every bit as trendy, but with a more vintage feel, the boater’s another must-have for summer 2019. Pick a plain version for a modern yet timeless look, or liven it up with coloured ribbons or pompoms.

Basket bags
Everyone will be carrying basket bags this summer... and not just at the market! Large or small, hard or soft, carried in the hand or over the shoulder, round or square, in wicker or bamboo, there's a basket for every outfit and occasion.
While a basket bag can give an outfit a vintage and (even more importantly) summery feel, they're also great for relaxing an austere or overly formal look. They also look great with denim, such as cropped jackets and dungarees, or teamed with pieces like a floral skirt or a ruffled top.

Shoes
Once again, you’ll be spoilt for choice by the vast number of footwear options available. Whether you prefer sandals, espadrilles or trainers with woven platforms, flat bottoms, natural or coloured soles, raffia shoes are ideal accessories for making the most of tanned legs and pedicures!
