Jacquemus, French fashion prodigy
JACQUEMUS, first name Simon, describes himself on Instagram like so: "My name is Simon, I like blue and white, stripes, fruit, Marseille and the 80s".
The deconstructed silhouettes in his collections with their graphic shapes reflect his obsessions and lifelong loves.
Portrait of Simon Porte JACQUEMUS
Presented against the brightly coloured architectural backdrop inspired by The Young Girls of Rochefort, the island of Murano and his native Provence, the most recent show shared Simon’s obsessions as an evolved vision of the JACQUEMUS woman.

The Jacquemus [Autumn-Winter 19](https://www.24s.com/fr-fr/femme/marques/jacquemus "https://www.24s.com/fr-fr/femme/marques/jacquemus) collection blends the conceptual and artistic ideas that inspired the designer’s early work with the sun-drenched sensuality of more recent collections. Using his passion for collecting as his starting point, he formed a picture of "La Collectionneuse" – a woman who likes to surround herself with modernist design, bright colours and objects of sentimental value.
Scattered with allusions to popular and elitist culture, his avant-garde clothes remain easy to wear. Accessories switch between realism and surrealism, miniature and oversized, further enhancing their appeal for collectors.

Knits get creative. One of them can be worn in two different ways, as an inverted TWINSET or left hanging off the body. Bouclette knit trousers and thick sweaters exude comfort. Trompe-l'oeil features at intervals throughout the collection. Buttoned skirts appear overlaid on dresses, swathes of fabric creating a new kind of silhouette.

A designer doesn’t judge others on their appearance, but I think it’s lovely when someone wears a shirt with my mother’s name in it. Simon Porte Jacquemus, 2017.
Rubber soled shoes are making an appearance this season, as well as padded pumps in a variety of vibrant colours.
True to his passion for feminine shapes and high heels, JACQUEMUS created the Toula boots with their attractive and simple yet original design combining topstitching with a slightly flared heel.
