MYKITA Brings Bold New Specs in Collaboration with 424
Berlin independent eyewear brand MYKITA releases a custom eyewear design in collaboration with cult streetwear label 424. Both brands are known for their individual, directional aesthetic, and share an affinity for bringing together artisan and high-tech production techniques in their products.
Guillermo Andrade is the founder of Los Angeles-based concept store FourTwoFour on Fairfax and a long-time MYKITA fan. Over the last couple of years the head designer has rarely been seen without his pair of ERIN sunglasses – the reduced, round model at the centre of the customized project.
“I think any time two different worlds come together it makes for an interesting project”, says Guillermo Andrade. “The quality and expertise of MYKITA meeting with our raw approach to product is why I was so excited to work on this.”
The MYKITA for 424 limited edition sunglasses combine a minimal Berlin aesthetic with a bold, fun sense of Californian ease. The custom design features the perfectly round sunglass model ERIN in two exclusive colour compositions: Shiny Silver with Ultra Red lenses and Glossy Gold
with Super Blue lenses.
Limited to 50 pieces per colourway, MYKITA for 424 launches on 8 September at the MYKITA Shop Los Angeles. From 9 September the collection will also be available in the MYKITA Shops New York and Tokyo, FourTwoFour on Fairfax, Dover Street Market in Tokyo, KM20 in Moscow, Storm in Copen- hagen and the MYKITA E-Shop.
