Spring/Summer 2022: Front Row
No zoom feature needed here. From subtle contrast stitching to sterling silver accents, the front row can see it all. Mindy Kaling, Gemma Chan, Keke Palmer and Karen Elson were among the friends, family and stars seated along the cobbled street outside our 151 Mercer store to experience Tory’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show. Wearing a stunning melody of colors, textures and prints from our Fall/Winter 2021 and Holiday/Resort 2022 collections — Elson in our multi-button dress, Kaling in our Stencil Floral turtleneck and wrap skirt — the front row brought their fashion week A-game.
Here, a closer look at our front row line up.
Spring/Summer 2022: Accessories Report The Spring/Summer 2022 collection drew inspiration from Claire McCardell, the American designer whose revolutionary designs of the 1940s fundamentally altered how women dress. While there’s a gentle push-and-pull between the retro and the modern throughout the collection, you sense it most in the accessories that finish the look.
Spring/Summer 2022: Backstage Beauty “Easy sophistication” is how hairstylist Guido Paulo described the inspiration behind the glistening wet-look styles he and his team created for Spring/Summer 2022. Falling in line with Claire McCardell’s guiding principles of comfort, ease and practicality, the team deftly created a straight-from-the-shower look, where models’ hair was slicked back at the sides and then left hanging loose, using Bumble & Bumble’s Multitalented Sculpting Medium Gel . The overall effect was modern, elegant and a subtle counterpoint to the vivacious color and print combinations peppered throughout the collection.
