The souvenir jacket is a style that has evolved past its cultural origin and integrated itself into the fashion industry today. Originally designed for the U.S. Navy to bring home as a souvenir post-war, the silhouette is often hand-embroidered with traditional Japanese designs to commemorate the American Troops' time in Japan. Crafted from supple navy blue velvet, this vintage 1950s U.S. Navy jacket features a collarless design, long sleeves, a ribbed hem and cuffs, a front zip fastening, a logo to the chest and a purple quilted reverse. Please note that vintage items are not new and therefore might have minor imperfections. This piece is intended to be a collector’s item.
