The floral motif is drawn from one of our most famous archive designs, Ianthe ' originally created in c.1902 by French Art Nouveau artist Rene Beauclair, and named after a romantic heroine from classical mythology. For Iphis, our designers extracted and transformed the artwork's delicate violet flowers into an elegant modern repeat ' naming the new design Iphis after Ianthe's lover in the story.
