The origins of the "Elephant Skin" date back to the 19th century and the industrial revolution. New working methods and machines demanded everything from the workers as well as from their workwear and the materials used for it. Especially in the heavy industry fabrics such as the "Elephant Skin" were used intensively, since the material was extremely resilient and could even withstand welding sparks. The name is program: a fabric that is just as durable and as smooth as an elephant skin! Gradually the fabric develops like leather, although it is made of 100% cotton. Our "Elephant Skin" is now woven from a German weaving mill according to old tradition and reaches a weight of 520 grams. The secret to the robustness of our "Elephant Skin" lies in the high shot density and twine used as a warp thread. Material: 100% cotton with an area weight of 520 gramsOther details: Buttons made of Steinnuss; Heavy locks at the heavily stressed places Made in Turkey;
