The award-winning Cross Leg Lounge Chair and Ottoman set was designed in 2015 by Magnus Long, a British industrial designer based in London working within furniture, product and lighting design. Designed exclusively for The Conran Shop, this edition of the chair and ottoman are fully upholstered in premium Legacy leather with bronze legs. Awarded Design Guild Mark's inaugural ‘Jonathan Hindle Award for Design Excellence’ in 2015 – recognising excellence and innovation in British furniture design – the idea for the Cross Leg collection came about from wrapping Post-it notes around and into cones to create a supple but stable shell for the seat.The form of the cone developed into a bean-like shape and expresses a warm and inviting place to sit. The addition of multi-density foams builds the fluid form and supreme ergonomics of the Cross Leg Lounge Chair and Ottoman. A high-strength bronze-finished tubular steel frame supports the shell, while the legs cross over, giving the set both its name and unique detail. Crafted in Italy, the shell is exquisitely upholstered in supple, superior grade European Legacy leather by artisan masters in leatherwork, finished in Italy by the best tanneries. Distinctive, oversized criss-cross stitching has been used on the visible seams of the seat to showcase its striking outline and make it a true statement piece for any room or workspace.Please note: This is an ex-display piece and therefore may show signs of wear proportional with use.
