product description
Unisex soft leather Gym, Day or 24h travel or handbag by Jil Sander. Two straps for carrying by hand or on forearm and one strap for crossbody or shoulder. Cotton lined with two open interior pockets and one leather edged zip up section for valuables. it's slightly trapezium shaped so widens at the top, this worked great for me as a laptop and work bag with another (sealed) bag for gym wear or afterword outfit changes. Easily enough space for 24/48 hours worth of travel, or just a normal day when you have to drag extra clothes around. It is heavy so I used the shoulder strap a lot and it is immaculate. no stretching, Matte silver hardware, discreetly branded front bottom of the bag, oozes quiet luxury and style. this cost £1800 quite some years ago and am reluctantly selling it on, due to a reoccurring shoulder injury so I now need a wheely case. Measurements below, but you can squeeze an awful lot in. it has been carefully looked after, odd little scratch that will buff out and it smells only of the best quality leather. Fits into the huge oversize bag trend for Ss24, looks great on anyone of any gender. also perfect carry-on size!
about JIL SANDER
Founded in 1968, the company went public in 1989. In 1999 Prada Group bought a 75% share in the company. Six months later, Sander departed the company, and it suffered serious financial setbacks. She returned briefly in 2003.
In 2006, private equity firm Change Capital Partners LLP (CCP) bought the company from Prada. At that point, the Telegraph reported that the company was in better shape financially. Prada CEO Patrizio Bertelli said: "As we focus on the development of the Prada and Miu Miu brands, I am certain that Change Capital Partners will be able to provide the necessary investment to further grow the Jil Sander business." Raf Simons remained creative director at Jil Sander.
In September 2008, the Jil Sander brand was purchased by Onward Holdings Co. Ltd (TYO: 8016), a Japanese multi-brand fashion conglomerate, and its European subsidiary GIBO' CO. S.p.A. for about US $244 million.
