product description
Yohji Yamamoto La vie en Noir Asymmetrical Long Shirt Cotton Black Size 1 (fits extremely oversized) Made in Japan With so many sub labels that the identifying tags stop making sense, Yohji’s low production “La vie en Noir” (Life in Black) line falls under the “Noir” distinction and offers many interesting silhouettes in the true all black fashion. This soft cotton shirt is an interpretation of the classic staff shirt but in a softer cotton that’s extremely comfy. The asymmetrical details are the rear of the hem being about 20cm longer than the front for a lovely drape look. Other notable details include a hidden button track for ultimate stealth mode and also a false cuff button on each wrist closest to the end of the cuff itself, where they fold over and onto themselves. Tagged a size 1, this is a one size fits most type of deal. Measurements: Shoulders - 59cm Chest - 65cm Sleeve length - 55cm Length - 85cm (front) / 105cm (back)
about YOHJI YAMAMOTO
Yohji Yamamoto launched his eponymous line in Tokyo in 1976, with the idea of creating men’s coats that could cover and protect a woman. He debuted his womenswear in Paris in 1981, with dramatic runway shows that furthered his reputation as an avant-garde visionary – although he prefers the title of “dressmaker” for its humble significance. Over the years, Yamamoto has refined his signature silhouette of long, sweeping skirts, expertly draped dresses and trousers, and asymmetrically cut tailoring in an all-black palette to achieve an at once challenging, romantic, and unconventionally elegant effect. His voluminous shapes at once conceal and intrigue, infusing artistic cuts with an intellectual and poetic sensibility indebted to Eastern philosophy.
