Worth the Hype

It's official - the It bag is no longer 'it'. As Autumn/Winter 2018 begins to roll in, we're tearing up the rule book, ushering in a new mood in handbags that's as much about discovery as we are. And, while we'll never fall out of love with a timeless piece of designer baggage, what's really getting us excited right now is the brazen and the micro-sized, all-over beading and transparency play.
So, with our international designer offering taking up residence among ready-to-wear on 1, we've dedicated our ground floor space to the next generation of must-knows. Enter home-grown heroes Shrimps, The Vampire's Wife and Kate Sheridan, alongside two cult names making waves Stateside: Maryam Nassir Zadeh and Simon Miller. If you thought you weren't in need of a new handbag, ready yourself for a serious test of willpower!
What began as a faux fur image overhaul, Hannah Weiland’s Shrimps has grown to encompass ladylike bags with an artful eye for texture – a little bit kitsch, heavy on the cool credentials.
Susie Cave is treading new ground for Autumn/Winter 2018, as The Vampire's Wife carries its dark-vintage inspiration over to high-drama handbags in decadent evening-ready fabrics. Look out for some specially-made exclusives heading our way too.
Maker of minimal leathers, and the final piece in our great British threesome, Kate Sheridan’s beautifully-crafted accessories are created with functionality at their core, direct from her East London workshop-cum-store.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh is the label feeding in-the-know New Yorkers with pretty-made-playful designs, incorporating PVC and iridescent textiles; we’re thrilled to count ourselves as exclusive stockists of her handbags in the UK.
Under the creative direction of Chelsea Hansford and Daniel Corrigan, fellow US export Simon Miller has made moves from its menswear beginnings, establishing a solid following for clean-lined, modern handbags with a focus on natural materials.
