Since King Louis XVs reign, France has been heralded as the heart of the perfume industry, so it comes as no surprise that French perfumer Parfums de Marly looks to the King for inspiration - most notably his love of horses. Translating this equestrian theme into its line of fragrances, the Maison titles each scent after a particular breed. This one, named Galloway, pays tribute to the now extinct pony that was once native to Scotland and northern England. Top notes of citrus and pepper develop into a heart of invigorating iris and orange blossom, while the base of musk and amber lends depth to the otherwise light, tangy eau de parfum.
