Photographer Myles Hall's Vision for Spring/Summer 2017
We can only see as far as our eyes will let us. Multitudes remain obscured, and black is the total absence of light. But visible colors—violet, blue, orange—have wavelengths that lie within our fragile range of sight. Teenage photographer Myles Hall uses daylight like a crooking finger, summoning color into the realm of perception, bidding its warmth.
Home Alone with Jacquemus The Designer Talks About Uniforms and Other Obsessions on a Tour of His New Studio in Paris Simon Porte Jacquemus ’ new studio sits on the edge of Canal Saint Martin—a three-story building that smells of fresh white paint and freshly cut flowers. The view is good, but Jacquemus cares more for the intimacy that comes from sharing what’s inside. Taking a series of self-portraits and still-lifes—softly focused, with his own feet and tulips in many of the frames—the designer opens the door just a crack.

This a story for an age when Yeezy seasons are the calendar for a generation of young fashion acolytes whose collective consciousness was just developing as the United States invaded Iraq—the second time. For them, the land before Ye is a haze of decontextualized references.

Talking Streetwear and Conspicuous Consumption with Teenage Fashion Aficionado Leo Mandella Take a scroll through 14-year-old Leo Mandella’s Instagram and you’ll find conspicuous consumption as a youth pastime. But Mandella, better known online as @gullyguyleo, isn’t in the selfie game to rock as many logos as possible. For him, “doing gully” and being all-branded all the time is, at its core, about connecting with a community of likeminded streetwear lovers. He wears his heart and his logomania on his sleeve, hoping to find his people.
